Okay, so I quit a while back, however I was recently trying to find a game to get into again, with my girlfriend. I figured Maplestory, while I may not find it the greatest game in the world, it seemed to be a good choice. I know the basics of the game, and a lot of other things. Many things have changed since I’ve been gone, but it’s generally the same.

So I explained to her all the jobs, and what they do, what they’re for, etc. She has her heart set on being an ice/lightning wizard. Okay, right. I searched for a while, on here and with google. What would synergize well with an ice/lightning mage? Well the first thing I thought of was a White Knight. (After all, mages get a skill the makes enemies weak to a certain element, right? I forget the skill name, but ice mages get a skill that makes monster weak to fire, correct?) Anyhow, yeah, that helps me.. so that’s one way they synergize. Another is in second job, the ice wizard would freeze the enemies so I can attack them without getting hurt. That’s not as much of a problem in third job as I have an ice element I can put on my weapon.

Then I thought about a cleric. Well, we can always find places to train where there’s undead, and she has meditate, which helps me. I can give bless, which is okay.. more avoid and stuff like that. I can heal, which is good.. Although usually a wizard would have magic guard on, so it wouldn’t help much, yes? Of course in third job, holy symbol and such. So in the end, I suppose it’s a pretty good combo.

So I was wondering if I could get some more suggestions, and also if you could tell me if mine are any good! I’m open for all jobs, and I don’t have a preference of my own. I just want a class that synergizes well with hers. Thanks for the help.

Recently I have been seeing many Player Moderators in Runescape not acting as they are supposed to. Sometimes some new player asks a pmod a question (I know pmods aren’t obligated to answer every question) and the pmod either says “noob”, ignores the player, or responds using incorrect grammar (u instead of you and ect).

I have also been seeing way too many pmods using incorrect grammar, that (in my opinion) is a bad example of a pmod! Player Moderators are supposed to set a good example for the rest of the players. To me, it is pretty sad seeing a player moderator who can’t spell (I don’t mean one error in a whole sentence, the whole sentence being filled with grammar errors).

Sometimes while walking around I get asked some questions by Pmods (it doesn’t happen like everyday but sometimes it happens). The questions vary - they can be a very stupid question about RS or can be a question about RS1 (like “Were Partyhats tradeable at first?”). Player Moderators are supposed to know almost everything (not to the last detail but very well general. Also don’t take the Partyhat as an example. I know RS1 was very long ago and not many people from RS1 still play).

Also, I have seen some Pmods being pretty offensive to others (I know they’re humans and have their limits but if they were smart enough to get Player Moderator status, they should be smart enough to [1] mute the player if he/she is being too offensive or [2] ignore the player and go on). I have witness pmods calling people (mostly newbies) things like “loser”, “idiot”, “imbecile”, “noob” and many more names.

The great majority of the Pmods I’m describing were players who, almost, the only thing they did was report players for the simplest (and lamest) reasons (or for autoing  ). Jagex gave them Pmod status assuming they were fit but as we might be seeing.. they are not.

This is one example of not-well-suited pmod

I’m NOT saying all Pmods are like this. There are Pmods who are very well suited for the status they hold.

So whats your opinion on this issue?

We have come down to the most important things: the weapons.

There are 5 choices of weapons:

Swords,BWs,Spears,Axes,and Pole Arms. I will describe each one in order.

-Swords.Most expensive of the five. Also Balanced speed.These have average Attack power and look the coolest.

-BWs. Most Balanced of the five. Cost is average, also attack power. Fastest of the weapons.

-Axes. Slightly slower than swords, but higher attack power.Cost is average.

-Spears. Longest range along with Pole Arms. Cost is Average. High attack power.

-Pole Arms. Same as the Spears.

Now, following the first topic, if you use my way of raising stats, by lvl 30 you should be able to hit quite a lot of enemies.

-Which one to Choose?-

Fighter/Crusader: Most HP.Recommended for people who care a lot about staying alive.(Uses Axes/Swords)

Page/White Knight: At Lvl 70, can charge weapons with Elemental Attribute.Very Balanced, recommended for people who like balance.(Uses BW/Swords)

Spearman/Dragon Knight: Highest Attack Power.Very slow, recommended for people who care alot about brute strength.(Uses Spears/Pole Arms)

I dont know if this is just me or not, I would just like other peeps thoughts on the role of Captains in lotro.

I’ve been playing Lotro since day one and to being with I really pleased that I roled a capt. I liked the fact that it is a good all rounder, also as someone who isn’t able to send a lot of time playing, a few hours during the week, I found it quite good for solo’ing.

However as time as gone on, and with each book release, I have found that the need / role of a captain get a little less.

We can no longer class ourselves as a dps class as we now have the worst dps in the game, our healing abilities might be good to start off with and can help at low to mid lvl’s but at high lvls doesn’t really make that much of a difference.

There is no point trying to tank as our dps drops so low there is no point attacking and we cant attract agro.

I know people will say that we can perform some great buffs, and yes we can, but I didn’t role a captsto become just a buff  bots

Now with the book 14 coming along and two new classes, i’m starting to get the horrible feeling that things are going to get worst.

I’m not asking for the Devs to make us uber gods or anything, but just pay us a little attention.

I mean we captains for gods sakes, surely we must be able to deal out more damage then Lm and Minstrels !!!

I know peeps will say role another character but like I said before, my time is very limited and the thought of lvl up another character is not appealing in the slightest.

Like I said, maybe its just me. I would like to know your thoughts, and if it turns out it is just me then I will shut up and move on.

Just wondering if anyone managed to catch the new “Seven Swords” quest before it got pulled.

As part of the Angmar changes, the sword quests were changed from the old, fellowship-needed 7 swords to just killing 7 named (normal) angmarim scattered in a fairly small part of Angmar, followed by a small-fellowship instance to finish the quest chain off.

I didn’t bother doing it until after the patch, by which point the final quest had been pulled because it was bugged (small fellowship quest but you could only enter it solo).

However I was reading on the Turbine forums that one of the selectable rewards from the new version is a pocket item with +14 Might, +14 Vit, +14 Agi, +1%parry. Sounds decent, was wondering if anyone had seen the quest/completed the quest before it got switched off by the patch to confirm this?

Also in pocket items, the Aughaire Challenge quest series has one that’s worth considering for raiding: -1.5% melee vun, +13 vit, +might (only a little but there’s a clicky for +15might for 10mins every 30 as well), +79 morale. Since you don’t really need massive evades in PvE raids it might be worth having it for the extra vit/moral.
